Have a look at this lovely farmhouse recently transformed by the architects at Studio Farris into a contemporary family crib! Inside and out, the dwelling (located in an agricultural area close to Brussels, Belgium) has a friendly, welcoming feel. Its picturesque brick walls were renovated by the project developers, which largely contributed to its charming, authentic appearance. The property also includes a generously-sized terrain, a swimming pool and an artificial water pond.
An optimum indoor-outdoor connection was achieved through extensive use of glass. Interiors have a strong personality: “inside, old elements were upgraded as well and confronted with modern volumes, it was necessary to create a pleasant atmosphere. By consistently applying this concept, a symbiosis between the old and the new was created. Both still remain recognizable, but strongly complement each other”. We love the special country-retreat atmosphere this home exudes, as well as its inspiring preserved design details. Photography: Tim Van de Velde
